These small seedlings rapidly form impressive shrubby, exotic-looking plants with large palmate leaves that may be green, bronze, or purplish. Seed pods are bright red or orange and resemble flowers; flowers are inconspicuous. Not cold-hardy but can reach heights of 6-10' in a growing season. Self-seeds readily; pinch off seed pods before they ripen (wear gloves!) to prevent reseeding. Full sun, rich, moist soil. Annual.
