Choosing the Right Location

When it comes to growing French Tarragon, selecting the right location is essential for its success. French Tarragon thrives in full sun to partial shade, preferring well-drained soil with a pH level between 6.5 and 7.5. Choose a site with good air circulation to prevent the development of fungal diseases. Avoid planting French Tarragon in areas with heavy clay soil or excessive moisture, as it can lead to root rot and other problems.

Planting French Tarragon

Plant French Tarragon in early spring or fall, spacing individual plants 18 to 24 inches apart to allow for proper growth and airflow. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, and gently firm the soil around the plant.

Watering and Care

French Tarragon has moderate water needs and prefers consistent moisture throughout the growing season. Water newly planted French Tarragon regularly to establish strong roots, then transition to deep, infrequent watering once the plant is established. Avoid overwatering, as French Tarragon is susceptible to root rot in waterlogged soil. Mulching around the base of the plant can help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.

Fertilizing

French Tarragon is not a heavy feeder and generally does not require fertilization if planted in nutrient-rich soil. However, you can apply a balanced fertilizer or compost in early spring to provide additional nutrients if needed. Be cautious not to over-fertilize, as excessive nitrogen can result in lush foliage at the expense of flavor. Monitor the growth of your French Tarragon plant and adjust fertilization accordingly.

Pruning and Harvesting

Regular pruning is essential for maintaining healthy French Tarragon plants and encouraging bushy growth. Pinch off the growing tips regularly to promote branching and prevent the plant from becoming leggy. Harvest French Tarragon leaves as needed throughout the growing season, using sharp scissors or pruning shears to snip off individual stems. Avoid harvesting more than one-third of the plant at a time to ensure continued growth and vitality.

Pest and Disease Management

French Tarragon is relatively pest and disease-resistant, but it may occasionally be affected by aphids, spider mites, or fungal diseases such as powdery mildew. Monitor your plants regularly for signs of pest infestations or disease symptoms, and take appropriate action to control them. Remove and destroy any affected plant parts, and consider using organic pesticides or fungicides as needed to protect your French Tarragon crop.

Overwintering

French Tarragon is a perennial herb that can survive mild winters with proper protection. In regions with cold winters, mulch around the base of the plant in late fall to insulate the roots and protect them from freezing temperatures. Alternatively, you can dig up potted French Tarragon plants and bring them indoors for the winter, where they can be grown as houseplants until spring.

Growing French Tarragon in your garden can be a rewarding experience, offering an abundant supply of fresh, aromatic leaves for culinary use. By following the guidelines outlined in this guide and providing proper care and attention, you can cultivate healthy French Tarragon plants that will thrive for years to come. Whether used to flavor sauces, salads, or seafood dishes, French Tarragon is sure to add a delightful touch to your culinary creations.

Simply The Best
Size: King (Pack of 1)
It appears there are more than 1,000 pillows advertised and available all over the Internet. The situation is a comedy routine. If you want a cooling pillow because you're a hot sleeper or if you want a plush pillow for back problems or a combination or neither, it doesn't matter. Be prepared to read 1,000 different advertisements until you start laughing out loud. This is what I did, but I wandered upon this Marlow Pillow system and then trusted the Amazon ratings. And boy am I happy, though a word of caution: if you want the cooling technology to really work you've got to pair this pillow with the Marlow pillow protector. Because Amazon didn't carry the pillow protector I bought it directly from Marlow. And this is the last pillow I'll ever get or need to get. Comfortable like a goose down pillow and yet cool to the touch and cool all night long. So I got lucky; have avoided having to buy multiple pillows; and now am enjoying the heck out of my Marlow King with the Marlow pillow protector. Lastly, this pillow is adjustable with a zipper and it works: you can make it softer or harder with a quick zip. The best pillow out there, by far!

Really good pillow!
Size: King (Pack of 1)
This is the first pillow that I have owned in the last 10 years in which I have not experienced any neck pain. It's the right density, comfort level, and is a high-quality item. I am a side and stomach sleeper. Try this pillow and I think you'll be happy.

OMG I finally found the one
Color: White, Size: Standard
I use to have a pillow that I took it everywhere. It finally was gone I couldn’t find one that I had. So my quest for the perfect pillow was 17 different pillows. I finally found the one!!! This pillow is soft but is sturdy. My head lays on the pillow and doesn’t fall to the bed. My neck isn’t tilted in an awkward position. The coolness of the pillow is amazing. This pillow is everything I was looking for. The price is 100% worth it. Edit ok I still love the pillow but you have to flip it because all the stuffing moves to the other side. The pillow still has enough that it was still comfortable. I wish that the stuffing would stay in the same pot.

Nice Pillow
Color: White, Size: King
I waited a few weeks before writing this review. It’s very difficult to find Info on this pillow but here’s my take on it. Height: It’s a nice height on the pillow. It has a 2” gusset which upon my research is a way to keep the inside foam and down at least 2” high. Types of sleeping: I find this pillow to be comfortable in all sleep positions. I do find that because it’s not full foam that you don’t get that full compression feeling so back sleep is not as comfortable to me as other pillows I’ve used but still very comfortable Back: Has enough height that my neck is supported. It’s not full foam so you will have to adjust your head position so it fits perfectly into the curve of the pillow for best support. Side: Thick enough that the compatibility with my mattress sink allows my body to be comfortably aligned. I have a medium hybrid tempurpedic luxe breeze. Stomach: Just barely thick enough to be comfortable. I sleep somewhat weird and like my arm to go under the pillow. This gives me the correct height for stomach sleeping if I put my head on the bottom part of the pillow. This also allows me to breathe lol. Cooling This pillow has awesome cooling. Even when I wake up the pillow is still ice cold. Never had this feeling before and I’m a hot sleeper so i really like this. Granted I do set my house temperature to like 73 to sleep. The sensor is right next to my bed so it’s a true 73. Material This has foam outer layers and a fiber fill. It really does feel unique and it’s comfy. It’s a decently heavy pillow too in king so that gives confidence there is good quality foam and materials in it. One thing to know, the cover is “slippery” and it took some getting used to, even though I use a pillow case I can feel it slides in the case more than other pillows. I think it’s because the cover is very thing to promote airflow and heat transfer. I wish it was adjustable for the price. Price I like the pillow, and got mine on sale. But I do think it’s a bit overpriced for what it is. Evidently the sale price I got wasn’t a good price and it’s gone as much as 20% off. Oh well.
