This is a rare late 1960s Marimekko Maxi Dress in the iconic Keidas (Oasis) Print in green, white, and a hint of pink created by Annika Rimala. Marimekko was founded in 1951 Viljo and Armi Ratia. Armi had artist friends submit designs for silkscreening and then had simple dresses made up to show how the designs could be used - this was an early recognition of the role that industrial design could have in marketing products. It was introduced to the United States by the architect Benjamin C. Thompson, who featured them in his Design Research stores. Then they were made famous in the United States by Jacqueline Kennedy, who bought Marimekko dresses to wear throughout the 1960 United States presidential campaign. She even wore one on a 1960 cover of Sports Illustrated! This is truly wearable art and a piece of fashion history. It's a heavy cotton maxi, with tent-like A-line skirt, back zipper, and four rows of stitching around the hem. Bust is 36 inches, Waist is 35 inches, and Hips are 42 inches. It's very long at about 55 inches from shoulder to hem. No holes, it's in very good to excellent condition and even has the original belt! There's faded yellow spots throughout that would not come out, spots on the inside hem that I think are from the interfacing, rust spot on the inside collar, and armpit discolorations, but the print is so bold it's hard to see. This is an authentic one of a kind vintage piece in wearable condition, that has been cleaned and repaired (if necessary). Flaws will be noted, but please ask any questions you may have as this is a FINAL SALE garment and cannot be returned. All items are measured flat the same way we measure our reproduction items. The maximum measurement is listed. Most vintage fabrics do not have stretch, so please take that into consideration when lookin

Good for my collection.
Format: Hardcover
This was another quick and entertaining read. This instalment wasn't as enjoyable as some of the other books but it was still good. I'm glad to have it in my collection.

I would put this book in my top ten favorites. It has great imagery, deep themes, and I'm still thinking about it years after reading it for the first time. I'm overdue for a re-read!

Staying is the making. The real making.
Format: Paperback
The tyrant owns form, doesn’t he? This is a book for anyone who might be no one, or anyone who is worried, or anyone who has ever thought about women, epic poetry, or both.

Exquisite, enrapturing
Format: Paperback
Loved the gritty, visceral language and the epic nature of this poem. Notely blows me away -- the loss of memory, the tangled and eternal subway, the owls and masks.
