This is a fabulous quality black silk 1940s evening dress.  This 1940s evening dress is made in a short sleeved full length sheath style.  It has a V shaped neckline and the bodice is gathered below the bust.  The midriff is finely smocked - quite amazing work that I’ve never seen previously.  There is a semi-transparent inset around the waist - it is irregularly sewn, so I’m unsure if this was added to lengthen the midriff.  You can see a shadow along the bottom of the insert but this is extra material that should have been tacked down.  Personally, I would simply cover this area with a wide belt in a similar fabric.  The dress has a peplum around the hips and there is a pleated floating panel down the front of the skirt.  This 1940s evening dress is unlined and does up at the side with a metal zipper.

Label: None

Material: Beautiful quality silk chiffon

Sizing: No size is indicated on this 1940s evening dress, and although this should fit a tall medium to large size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking into account the style of the dress:

Shoulders:  15 1/2” across from one shoulder/sleeve seam to the other shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves:  9 1/2” from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Bust:  40” around, but should fit loosely

Waist:  29” around

Hips:  40” around

Length:  61” measured flat

Condition:  Aside from the aforementioned insert at the waist, it is in excellent condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour.  This 1940s evening dress looks to have seen little use and has been well cared for over the years.

This is a high quality 1940s evening dress with movie star style - classic and timeless!

Great choice. Choose medium to small sizes for easy maneuver
Color: Cream, Size: 7.3-Quart - Deep
Love this Dutch oven. I bought a cream one. I recommend a dark color: it may be easy to clean, but it may retain some foods colors. I recommend a medium sized oven. I have the big one and it is too heavy to carry on and when using for baking, it can be tricky. I made stew and chunk roast beef and worked good. I would recommend a medium size for good handling. Also because smaller sizes may be easier to use in electric stoves as the glass can get damaged.

Beautiful pot
Color: Blue, Size: 6.4-Quart - Deep
I was a little bit skeptical buying a large Dutch oven at this price point, when the well known brand (that I won't name here) sell for at least 5x the cost. Ive never owned one at all, so unable to compare apples to apples. - Color and finish look great. Even better in person than the photos. - Its hefty. I was expecting it to be heavy, since last iron, but it feels like it is robust. - Cooking with it has been great so far - sauté veggies, add liquid and rice for fantastic Spanish rice. Some stirring needed to avoid sticking, but comparable to my non stick pans or better. The heavy mass of the Dutch oven dissipates heat more evenly. - The handles get pretty warm / hot during use even on stove top. Thats probably normal, since the pot and two handles are one continuous piece. Not a big deal. The small handle on lid stays night and cool. - Overall, this feels like a great purchase and will replace a lot of duties I was using various pans for. Time will tell how the durability is.

Just perfect for sourdough baking!
Color: Dark Blue, Size: 6.4-Quart - Deep
This was exactly what we needed for our baker in the kitchen. Cast iron and a great value for the money. Works perfectly well for heating the bread. The blue is perfect for the kitchen too!

Great quality. Easy to clean. Nice appearance.
Color: Red, Size: 4.3-Quart
Solid, heavy pot for cooking and baking. I bought it mainly for making soups, stews and breads. I have only tried soups thus far. The pot cleaned up very easily. The bottom of the pot heated uniformly. Nothing was stuck to the pot when I was simmering on the glass top stove. I have not had the chance to bake yet, but seeing how evenly it held heat while cooking, I am thinking this will be perfect. I bought the red color. It gives a nice pop of color in my kitchen. This pot will probably last me a long time. I would buy one if I needed a replacement, or a gift for someone.
